Was at a premises today chatting to a customer who happened to be female approx 70ish years old.
Asked about her car a nice looking 2 year old mini cooper S...absolutely amazed when she told me the mileage was 600 miles.
surely this must be the lowest mileage car still used as a sort of runabout from new.
I did offer to put some miles on it for her,but seems to be a real waste of car ownership...anyone beat this?

I saw an ex-lease (so three years old) Peugeot Expert at an auction, obviously the fleet 'spare' van, absolutely poverty spec, no central locking, keep fit windows, bare basic of everything, but with only 300 miles on it.

Sold for about the same as the other ex-lease models, purely because nobody in their right mind would buy a second hand van with such low specs!

Reckon there are a few exotics that have less miles on at that age.

When you think about some of the collections that people have, there must be a few Koenigseggs/Zondas etc.

I'm 100% sure you're right. Incredibly sad, isn't it? The cars most fit for the purpose of driving for the pleasure of it rarely get their legs stretched. Why not buy a diesel Peugeot 307 or some st if you're never going to drive it?

I agree with you there, some people seem to enjoy cars more as art forms than driving machines though. Each to their own but that'd never be me.

And why not, I would have jumped at the chance if I was in the market. After all it is just a working tool.

My Womans DB9 is 3 yrs old in a minute and its done 1200 miles.

I have a Renault Sport Spider that is 13 yrs old and that's done 500 and I've had it from new.

Yes I know what a waste

I thought mine was really low covering 3,000 miles per year.

Just think of the immaculate examples that will be around in the years to come...

My grandad bought a brand new mazda tribute about 5-6 years ago and when he sold it this summer it had 4000 miles on the clock. Not the lowest mileage here but I was quite shocked when I had a look the odometer.

Nice collection in your profile, but as someone who loves driving iv got to ask why do you use them so little? is it because you prefer just looking at them, or are they investments? (aimed more at the spider than the aston, genuine question I'm not moaning)

Some I use more than others cos they might only get used on sunny days and I use a car that suits my mood. Spider has been in store since it was a year old never having been taxed or MOT's. Got it out this year because I thought I'd use it but in truth I prefer to use something else given the summer was running out.

Old SL I'm enjoying and also the old Aston. My Wifes Aston doesn't get used cos she prefers to jump in her daily...less stress and worry.

My grandmother's 1999 Mercedes E240 Estate has around 14,000 miles on the clock, and despite being garaged all it's life has just had to have two new front wings fitted due to rot rolleyes
