Hello all

Just wanted the PH opinion on this.

So i pull into Tesco in Ashford this evening. Behind me before the roundabout appears a white Peugeot 308. Said 308 then sticks round the roundabout and down the Tesco road to about 3 mm off my bumper. I’m doing 10mph. Due to the massive fk off highway maintenance truck in front of me. He then darts off down a row of spaces. However no spaces are free so i meet him down the row i choose to look for, where i have to go, oohh an inch over the white line due to pedestrians. Causing him to move slightly into the disabled spaces to tear past me, while giving me the evil eye. (please note as i moved to pass pedestrians he wasn’t there, its only as he teared around the corner he was forced to go wide)

When I then saw him in Tesco cue the "there is that tt in the BMW, fking wker etc etc" All to his companion. a girl of about 7.

Now what the hell. Did i do anything wrong here? i don’t think so!!! This sort of thing seems to happen more and more when i borrow my dads 10 plate 320d. For fks sake its a 320d. Its not an M3, its not a 335d mapped (i wish) yet i get abuse and general st from other drivers in it. I drive no differently in it to how i drive my Clio, yet i get no abuse in that?!?!

Also, the other driver in fact all the ones who seem to be greatly offended by my dads car with me in it, are over 40.

People, any help?

PS. i didn’t have a can of red bull to hand to throw. Sorry.

Go to the new Waitrose instead. Nice car park, nice shop, nice customers, nice food.

Easy.

He's a knob...

I had someone threaten to stab me in a supermarket over some perceived slight on the roundabout on the way into the carpark. He was a knob too biggrin

The same thing happens to me when I drive my Dad's 320d as well. I drove through my village earlier today in between parked cars where there was still enough room for two buses to pass and some tosser in a white pick-up came through at the same time swearing and giving me hand gestures to move over (it might have been the wker sign, I'm not sure).

It was completely pointless as neither of us had to slow down during this and I probably wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't been looking at him. Some people are pricks, simple as that.

Defo jelousy. Having said that, i often get it the other way round. If im in my 330d, and especially if im taking it steady, people hang back. Do that in a micra corsa or fiesta and people get up ur arse trying to bully and "push" u forward!

Be thankful you're not him, and have the ability to laugh off ridiculous insults from morons.

You do, don't you?

This.

Plus the fact 99% of people are programmed to think BMW drivers are s.

I get it all the time - People give way to me twice as often in the van as they do when I'm in the car.

The excuse of not having a red bull to hand isn't valid given you were at Tesco's. Cheap imported beer would probably be better as I imagine the metal would pierce easier?

I was driving along today minding my own business in my 16 year old MX-5 worth less than £2k, and a car coming the other way caught my attention with a beep. When I looked, he was flipping me the bird and looking very cross about something. Genuinely no idea what had rattled his cage, it was a reasonably sunny day and I had the hood down, so I can only assume I was some kind of "flash bd in my expensive sports car". He was in a 10 plate hatch of some description!

Some strange people about...

The economic mess has triggered a lot of negative behaviour. Jealousy is increasing by the day ... it will only get worse frown. I just wish people would grow up when they see a nice car .....

Your geographical location didn't help wink

BMWs seem to attract this behaviour more than other marques unfortunately.

I remember my old boss had a new shape Mini, used to leave it in the car park day in, day out, no problem.

Swapped to a red 1-series and it got keyed within days. Fixed, then keyed again - worse this time.

Changed to a Fiat 500 no problem.

All cars were of similar value too, it's just mindless.

People see the propellor badge and instantly think 'rich' or 'flash' or whatever.

A real shame.

Of a newer BMW? I don't get any problems with my E30.
I drive very slow in supermarket car parks, slowly stalking a space. I like to think people see it as little agressive with the black grill, eybrows and low stance.

that could be a load bks and im kidding no one but myself
