This has got to be the least cool hot hatch on the planet - so why do I really, really want it?

I know I have a soft spot for Japanese cars, but there may be something wrong with me...

Nope, they are pretty cool, they look good in a 80s box way and have a pretty decent engine to.

Does anybody know exactly where that engine comes from? Is it a non-turbo version of the S13 200SX's motor?

Somehow I like it. But then again I love this boxy style from eighties.
The engine should be CA18DE with 130ish hp and that should be enough guts to propel this light box in an enjoyable manner.

Don't know about the coolest (or best) of that age, but its a fairly handsome little car.

I'm still wanting an AE92 Corolla GTi-16 ..... I will have one at some point. Maybe.

My Dad had one of these as a company car, perfect for the thrusting 80s exec. It was great, and certainly a step up from our old B-reg Sunny 1.5 GL. Never ever broke down and it served us very well until it got replaced by a rubbish mk1 Laguna.

I learned to drive in the 80s and these were a st car then, let alone now. Very poor dynamics. Obviously looks are subjective.....

By that I mean, it'll be good for everyone to laugh at.

I had a three door 1.3 LX. It was like steering a boat. Buy it.

Yes but it had 4 electric windows and velour upholstery which outshone its contemporaries at the same price level (I bought one for an ex-Mrs!)
