Which "angular" small car?
Discussion
MrsC currently drives a '96 Polo, which she likes but which is approaching the end of it's useful, not to mention the safety aspects, so it's time to put something else on the drive for her.
She doesn't cover a lot of miles - the station run in the morning, short local journeys, and a monthly 160 mile round trip to her mother's (for which she often takes my car anyway).
Thing is, she doesn't see anything out there that she likes the look of, and says that all the modern small cars are too "rounded", or "bubble-like". She likes the fact that her Polo has straight-ish sides and corners, and would have another if they were still made in that shape. We've discounted the later facelift model on the basis of reliability & build horror stories.
Budget tbc but likely to be £5k max. There are no specific requirements apart from easy to park, not too big, and preferably a hatch. Best I've come up with so far is a Suzuki Swift. What say the crowd?

Ah, you could be on to something with the Fabia there - it's even the same colour!
Later/low mileage Polos went to the facelift model in the late 90s I think? Hence avoidance as these were the ones with all the build/reliability problems.
As for the MR2 - well, all joking aside, I have been pushing the MX5 idea, as she has no need for a hatch, and she does like them but currently undecided on that.

tried to push the fabia for my mrs, she loved the look and drive of it, but after a test drive she finally noticed the make of the car. didn't like the skoda badge :/Later/low mileage Polos went to the facelift model in the late 90s I think? What was the Junior WRC inspired pint-sized Japanese hot hatch of a couple of years ago? A Suzuki something maybe? Looked like it was styled with a set square and said to deliver a rather fiery old school GTI sort of experience for when you want to borrow it off her.
Swift?
