I'd also consider selling a slightly used wife (one careful owner) with all associated accessories.

Isn't the price a bit optimistic?

I'm not a big fan of the Beetle, but I want it.
I want it now!

I think the price is about right actually.

I've seen a couple of RSi's go for around £20k recently, and given this has had HPA fettle with it, £20k for that amount of work is reasonable.

Now, decisions... Go for one that's already been done, or continue saving with the view that one day I can myself create another one of these abominations?!?

0 - 60 in 3.2 seconds, that's NUTS!

I like the idea, I just couldn't live with the silly looks.

Then you think back to when it came out and it always seemed to end up being compared (perhaps unfairly) to the contemporary 911 C4 and found wanting.

I'm certain someone on PH has one (or did do a couple fo years ago).

Buy it and de-gash it to look like a normal Beetle. That'd be a superb sleeper.

or try and get hold of one of the porsche engined 1303s beetles that were built - big fan of sleeper bugs but the newer shape is pretty uninspiring.

To be fair, it was engineered to compete with the Audi TT and not the Porker.

In actual fact it was the test bed for the Golf R32 - sharing the same chassis, drive train, gearbox, engine and suspension components from the Audi S3.

Bit of a VAG kit bag, but you're right, the silly looks do get a bit tiresome! smile

Hang on fellas....

OP, so that I might consider your proposal further, kindly post a picture of said wife, that being PH etiquette.

No problem, I will accept a 10% deposit of the total funds ahead of our transaction, then I'll send a picture of the goods that you'll be receiving.

PS - will a picture of my torso be sufficient? Getting at my kidneys will be a bit of a problem?

Can you still get the little vase of flowers for the dashboard on one of these?
