Been debating with a petrolhead mate today about whether you refer to your car as "she" or "her"
He, in common with many other enthusiasts I note, refers to his car as a female entity.

I love my cars and have been accused of being far to "in to them" but I dont get it. Even the greatest cars, the most characterful, the most enjoyable are machines, not laydees wink

So, How many of us fall into each camp?

Mine was given a girls name by my ex. I had no say, and the name has since stuck with my family.

It is a machine and naming cars is weird.

However I do care about it and should you damage it, I will give you a jolly good punch on the nose.

My car is a boy, so tongue out (girlfriends decision I might add though).

Mine is a machine. There is a ghost in there that just occasionally unleashes itself, but ultimately the joy is in perfecting the balance and interaction of the Sciences.

Her Tiv is like your favourite bulldog. Loud bark, faithful to the core and will only bite if you treat him badly and provoke him. He makes people of all ages smile.

Her S2k is schizophrenic.

Not a "she", not a machine but simply "The Goddess".

Mrs Indi Pearl's S2K is "The Princess".

Good grief we are sad people!

my 350Z is a 'guy'
Yes its silly but all cars are different and can show traits of personalities, even if it is a machine.
I spend a lot of money on 'him' probably more than if I had a child - so he deserves a name

The Ferrari is most certainly a she, the BMW is an it and the Panther is "the Panther"
