Stupid analogies annoy me. "..like a Grand Prix circuit." It's not though is it, it's just some people in cars driving a bit over the 30 limit sometimes?

Good on him I say... I would like to do something similar outside ours to stop the tts screaming past on a residential estate where kids are playing and the council refuse to put speed bumps.

Hmmm... whilst I hate the idea of doing this, but put it in his point of view? you have people driving past your house at 45-60mph even though its a 30mph zone completely ignoring the speed limit, then hell yes I would do the same.

I do speed, but there is a time and a place and a 30mph residential zone is not it... EVER!!

When I read the title of the thread, I assumed it was some kind of confession for your 'other' van thread.

..that's so funny I was going to take a pic of a car that is parked locally that has the same "go faster stripes" across the bonnet, roof and rear....it think the car was an old Citroen Saxo or some such.

If it was bad enough and I had 'need' of a van then yeah, maybe I would.

This.

I would get pretty damned annoyed if I lived in a 30 and people were regularly blasting past my house above the speed limit.

Of course, anyone who does speed down that street - and reads The Wail or PH - now knows that its not a real scamera van. So, in crowing to the papers he's just defeated his cunning plan. A genius.

Though the irony is that he is a delivery driver, who are of course known for their adherance to the rules of the road, I can understand getting frustrated with speeding past your door.

Quote from the Daily Wail report: But in July last year road safety chiefs switched it to other roads because the street ‘no longer met the criteria for speed enforcement’

This is double speak weasel words for "we could not catch sufficient motorists to justify the time or presence of our van on that road".....

Mr Donnelly, who has three children aged 15, 18 and 22, added: ‘I’m not breaking any laws because it doesn’t have the proper insignia for a camera van. I’ve even had police officers give me a wink and a thumbs-up as they go by.’

A South Wales Police spokesman confirmed he was not breaking any laws.
Apparently not.

Am I the only one thinking it doesn't look much like a camera van? The colours are all wrong, and the police around my way tend not to use wrecks.
