Because you get banned for 30 days if you're caught using one, apparently.

A gatzo wont call backup when it's signal is scrambled...
Not worth it IMO.

Illegal or not, would you trust them to work?

I'm surprised he didn't get perverting the course of justice tbh. Bikers with flip up plates can face a few years in prison, jammers are no different in how they are used as far as I can tell.

How would the bib know there was such a device fitted unless it was pulled over for another reason and done a search of the car?

Or does the device interfere with the systems fitted to a patrol car such as ANPR?

If memory serves, a laser jammer will not work on a Gatso since it uses a K band pulse-Doppler radar, and similarly, it will not work on a Truvelo because it uses inductive loops in the road.

The only things it does work on are the manned roadside laser based detectors - so not exactly worth the risk since it's damned obvious to the operator what you are doing.

Old tyres and lighter fluid DO work, however.

Not a lawist, the above may be illegal

Exactly. Despite the misleading article title all they jam are lasers and it's very easy for the bib operating said laser to twig what you're doing. Then you're going to court and, if you're unlucky, to prison.

The sophisticated parking aids only jam for a few seconds iirc whilst giving an alert inside the car. This is intended to allow you to slow down a tad. The gun operator won't get a reading for those initial seconds but his gun will work normally afterwards. He won't be certain what's happened as errors probably occur quite frequently.

LOL!! I Actually know him... Not at all shocked that he was doing something so illegal, but completely shocked he has a Porsche!!!!

Anyway, I think there are a bit pointless? Surely if you want to speed and don't want to get caught, slow down for speed cameras or head to a track?

What is the camera jammer used for? Just like the cell phone jammer or any other jammer that used for the signal blocking work?
