Interesting abandoned car....
Discussion
At the end of my road is a public car-park which is hardly used, there is however, a T-Reg VW Passat which has been sat there for a good 12 months and the road tax has also now expired. I know before I ask this that its probably a bit of a daft question, but is there any way that you can claim a car which has been left for a long period of time or if not is there any way of getting in touch with the owner as imo the car looks pretty straight, even if just for parts.

Link to the "free" escort cosworth thread ( cost him £450 actually

Did he become the owner, or just the registered keeper?
You only get to become the registered keeper, and the owner can still turn up at any time and claim it back.If you've got a "classic" but it's run down and needs some TLC but you can't afford to fix it. Then *abandon* it, wait for the new "owner" to spend thousands doing it up, then go back and claim it back. Hey presto, all the restoration done for free

You can no more 'claim' a car that youve seen, than I can 'claim' the contents of your bank account, or a go on your lass.
Will this forum-f*ckwittery never end?
