Won the btcc, looks like a nice enough car.

Zzzzzz.....

I know someone who has a very good knowledge of them (all models) and is far from a fan. It's OK if you want a car as a domestic appliance but nothing more.

No sporty models either, best model is the 2.0 diesel but a 1 year old Focus is a far better bet.

now that is a shame. Pity the win on Sunday buy on Monday doesn't play out for them.
2ltr diesel best in the range or rather sportiest..., oh dear. Glad they have one but why not use the racing pedegree to shift their sports models along with the run of the mill items.

Think Cavalier with a Vectra 1.8 petrol engine, with mid-80s SEAT interior, and you've pretty much got it.

Shocking interior build quality, wheezy engines. We looked at them when getting the OH's car, but ended up buying an i30 which was far better built and better value.

Edit: See they dropped the 1.8 engine, it's not got the 1.6VVT out of the Astra. That's worse.
Edit 2: The diesel is a VM Motori lump. Oh dear.

How close is a BTCC car to that you find in the showroom ? The wky name alone puts me off...
they might share some pieces of interior trim and maybe light clusters...

The "Win on Sunday, sell on Monday" thing only works if you have a brand with vaguely sporting pretensions. It worked pretty well for SEAT.

The Chevrolet Epica seemed a much nicer car, a bit plusher and available with a reasonably interesting 6-pot 2.0 litre.

Wow this car does seem one to avoid and we'd be leagues better off getting a five year old golf for 6k
