As a proper PHer I am always thinking about that "next" car, but unfortunately I am big on thoughts, not so big on actions!

Current situation is Saab 900T16S (6 years), MX-5 (3.5 years). Love them both, not bored of driving either, love how different the Saab is and the driving experience/turbo kick, love the chuckability of the MX-5 and the fact that you can really wring it out.

However, I do have the urge to move on. Love BMWs and TVRs and in the future would love to have something like an e36 328i Coupe/Chimaera with the Saab in the garage for occasional use.

The problem is, the all year round use is killing the Saab. Already had various bits of rust seen to and just had an MOT advisory on rust that is going to cost £600 to fix. I don't mind doing it, but then driving it round all winter in the ice, snow, and salt seems crazy. The MX-5 is useless in poor conditions.

It would be nice to have something I could pile the miles onto without being too worried, but at the same time life's to short to have a boring daily driver.

I really, really, really don't want to sell the Saab. I will never find another as good without spending a lot of money. Not so attached to the MX-5 but I have spend time and money getting it sorted and don't want to start from scratch with another later.

Really stuck for what to do. Was offered a mint M3 Evo convertible recently for good money but decided I couldn't live with the M-bills. Plus I know it wouldn't be nearly as chuckable as the MX-5, or as different as the Saab.

As much as I want to, I can't justify running a 3rd car.

I don't really know why I am posting this. I am very lucky to be able to afford (just about!) to run 2 cars, just don't know where to go from here :-/

Any advice/stories/experience gratefully received smile
