I am struggling with HPI at the moment as they have recorded a mileage error on my car. According to them a mileage of 112,000 miles was recorded in sept 2005 when the MOT and service record show 68K.The error occured during a private plate switch and I am in the process of getting them to rectify their fault. Unfortunately I lost the sale of my car due to their report using information they say came from the DVLA.
Upon checking with the DVLA they state categorically that the mileage information given cannot be relied on fully to match that on the speedo of the Car. Now to get HPI to correct their own mistake I have to start contacting previous owners and send copies of MOT's and service Records. Two questions then what is the point of them using information they know could well be flawed and secondly should I sue them for the loss of my sale and an amount for the inconvenience they have caused me.
