On my insurance I have windscreen cover with an excess of £65 which is fine, now my screen looks like its been sat in the desert for 4 years while a storm was raging for the same amount of time.

And it makes it hard to see properly in the sun or at night when oncoming traffic is actually with brain and using its lights.

So my question is, if I ask my insurance company to replace the screen will it then affect future premiums? Assuming they will replace a shot blasted windscreen.

doubt it - you're covered for cracks and chips - not an enhancement of the vehicle; otherwise you could ask for a replacement front wing if it got a bit rusty.

if the screen were to become chipped/cracked - that would be a different matter.

Thank you.

I did think that but just thought I would pose the question incase someone had a better idea.

I will ring up one of the windscreen places and see what they recommend.

A pitted windscreen is akin to having bald tyres if you can't see through it properly.

No. Well, not for a windscreen. Unless you want a fairground mirror look through it.
