NMR discrepencies.
Discussion
Hmmn I've ended up on this forum having just done an HPI check that apparently shows up discrepencies due the NMR and am in bit of a quandry as where I go from here. Just how do they obtain their information? This is what the check returned.
06-Jan-2004 NMR 1 1
03-Mar-2006 NMR 21,000 21,000
03-Mar-2006 NMR 21,720 21,720
02-Jun-2006 NMR 21,000 21,000
02-Jun-2006 NMR 21,890 21,890
09-Jun-2006 NMR 23,000 23,000
09-Jun-2006 NMR 57,000 57,000
09-Jun-2006 NMR 57,216 57,216
14-Jun-2006 Manufacturer 21,890 21,890
12-Jun-2007 Manufacturer 28,484 28,484
29-Dec-2008 NMR 47,300 47,300
29-Dec-2008 DVLA 48,000 48,000
31-Dec-2008 NMR 45,000 45,000
28-Jan-2009 Manufacturer 47,615 47,615
03-Jun-2010 DVLA 56,000 56,000
The check seems to make some sort of sense apart from the 3 very different entries on the 9 June 2006, very random. Are these checks worth the money paid for them? Has anyone else had this issue or something similiar.

The following dates don't look right to me further down: 29-Dec-2008 DVLA 48,000 48,000
31-Dec-2008 NMR 45,000 45,000
It drove in reverse for a couple of days?
EDIT:
You can change the mileage recorded on previous MOT's to see if it looks dodgy here:

Whatever you (or anyone else) specify as the car's mileage when doing an HPI check will get logged onto the NMR. So all it takes is someone being careless with entering the digits, and the car has a "dodgy" record forever.
If the other info stacks up - mileage readings sourced from DVLA, MOT or service-history, then I think you can safely ignore a couple of dubious NMR-sourced entries.
Yeah I spotted the 48000 and 45000 entries too but then I look at the number pad on a keyboard and the 5 and 8 are above and below each other and the entries are two days apart, the second done by someone on new years eve probably thinking about a night out. Will be going through the docs very carefully tomorrow and making some phone calls I guess, it is all main dealer service history according to the stamps.
