My car is in the garage next friday (again) and I need to borrow a courtesy car. I am 22, so my insurance doesn't cover me TPFT on other vechiles which is the garages usual policy for allowing use of their CC's. So, the other option, they told me is to take out temp cover. However, everywhere wants me to be 25, including the place the garage recommened (DUH!). Tempcover ltd offer it, but the cost is 60 squids for one day, with a £1500 excess - no thanks!

So anyone know of any companies that will cover me (hopefully for less than 20 notes) for the day!

TIA

www.dayinsure.com Apparently offer cover to under 25's but wouldn't quote me for a test drive, worth a try though.

How robust is this "policy" of theirs? They might change your tune if you decide to take your custom elsewhere, plenty of garages have let me have a courtesy car without any of this bother.

They won't insure me but won't tell me why. One company wouldn't insure me because of my postcode (LS19) confused

Could you not add the courtesy car temporarily to your current policy?

Yep - going to cost me £23; so probabaly going to be the cheapest option. I would have prefered a ten pound note instead though hehe
