I gave the car a wash this afternoon, like you do.

I noticed that inside the petrol filler cap was filthy with years of built up grime. So I get an old sponge and give it a good clean. But a lot of the locking / hinge mechanism is in the way and filthy as well so I decide to take this off to give it all a good clean up, I'm in that sort of get-things-done mood.

Bottom line is I seem to have totally broken the spring mechanism and now find myself hunting around ebay for a replacement.

And the replacement from E-bay will be dirty!

Needing a good clean.

With a magic spring mechanism beyond the ken of man to put back together.

This could be a recurring activity smile
