I'm off into town tomorrow and need a place to park. So far I'm thinking of parking Covent Garden. Does anyone know how much this will cost?

Alternatively, I could try to park at Lincoln's Inn-would anyone know how much this will cost?

Lots

I would look at parking just south of river, near Lavington street for example and then walking or grabbing a bus / cab

As long as you're not arriving early, I'd bung it on a meter somewhere around Tavistock Square and take the (fairly short) stroll down to Covent Garden. iirc the meters only apply Saturday morning then it's free, and you'll usually find a space if you cruise around the block for 10 minutes or so.

I admit it is further away than you wanted but the NCP Aldersgate Street in the city used to be a fiver a day on the weekends.

Last time I used it was in March so no idea if the offer still stands.

Parking in Central London. There's a concept... despite living here I've never done it biggrin

I assume you're entirely against the concept of parking at a satellite tube station and riding in? Works out much cheaper, usually quicker and less of a PITA.

Meters come off at 6.30pm weekdays, 1pm Saturday, not sure about Sundays. And you can park on single yellows after these times, whats the problem? Saves having to get on the tube to the train station wait for the train and then drive home.

If you are going to the theatre NCP do half price car parking at quite a few car parks, google.

Lincolns inn fields used to be my cheeky place to park because it was cheap. I think it was about a quid an hour. Someone obviously got wind of it, now it's around 6 quid an hour!

I'm yet to find a place nearby which is any cheaper so I'd say get public transport unless you want to pay 50 quid to park for the day.

The Queen Victoria Street car park in The City us cheap as chips at the weekend. Something like £4 or £5 all day. It is a 5 min walk to St Pauls tube on the Central Line.

I normally park up for free in Golders Green and then get the Tube in.
