What would you like to see as an NGTC?
Discussion
Didn't manage to catch it in action at Brands but read about the NGTC Avensis and the formula in Autocar this week. It seems a great idea, especially if it can return the BTCC to anything like the Super Tourer 90s with less cost! What would you guys love to see return to the series? The article made it seem anything over 4400mm could compete so, in theory, anything goes... I want:
- Alfa 159
- Manufacturer backed Ford v. Vauxhall entries again
- A Volvo estate aswell, perhaps V60?
- Oh, and a Skoda Octavia or Superb, but I have no justification for this!
What do you reckon?

Pretty much like the BTCC of the 90's with major manufacturer support and repmobiles racing round. Definitely don't want hatchbacks (e.g. Civic, Leon) and definitely don't want coupes (e.g. Integra). The Super Touring era was basically heaven for me growing up.
Only problem is most repmobiles are absolutely massive now (e.g. Mondeo).
Still.
Alfa giving us a 159 touring car would be pure and utter sex.
Vauxhall with the Insignia
Toyota with the Avensis (the NGTC test car looks brilliant IMO)
Ford with the Mondeo not the Focus (looks terrible as a touring car really)
Volkswagen with the Passat? (I'd settle for the Jetta though)
Volvo with the S40, or even the brand new S60.
BMW with the 3-Series, though they're going the DTM route).
Audi with the A4 (especially with the 90's silver + 4 red rings livery), though they're heavily involved in DTM and sportscars.
Renault with the Laguna (bring back Menu and the Yellow/Blue livery!)
etc.

i dont mind the hatch backs and coupe well there have only been 2 coupe in the last 10 years and that was the astra coupe in the early 2000 and the integra and the hatchs have kept the grids up for the last couple of years the only problem i can see wih manafactures is that there will only be a few that want to enter the btcc
chevrolet which is backed in some way by the manafacture
honda in with dynamics
ford with aon
which is it at the moment the rest are independent teams driving other car ie rac bmw,
i cant see vauxhall returning as it will be competting against chevrolet in the same group gmc
BMW woundnt as there are entering dtm, same as audi and merc
Cant see alfa returning
vw very unlikely as a manafacture
So what cars will we see well the toyota have been bought already by speedworks
Would love to see mg returning with the 6 have already said they are looking into it
volvo rummors for years might come back as the stcc are looking to run with similar ngtc rules
Jaguar would be nice to have but cant see it though
but as it not going to be full ngtc till 2012 or 13 cant remember which the cars at the moment super 2000 should remain for atleast a 1 or 2 more years while everyone switches to the new rules should be a interesting couple of years for sure
