I always thought after 11PM you were not meant to sound your horn?

Yet when having to be up at 5am for day shifts all weekend I find myself being woken up on a regular basis by taxi drivers and general clowns blasting their horns in the early hours awaiting their passengers.

Do they not have any consideration for people?
Can they not get off their arse to nip up to the front door to sound the bell/knock etc?

Is this just the area I live in or is there a general lack of consideration generally?

Don't get me started when I'm on nightshift hehe

What you have to remember is that people, in general, aren't very nice!!!

I know exactly what you mean, but depends entirely on where you live! At Uni in Bristol I was being woken up constantly by horns and whatnot, but at home in a village in Cumbria I don't hear a thing and sleep like a baby smile

I do believe its illegal to sound the horn after a certain time at night / before a certain time in the morning, the exact times have escaped my head right now though.

Happens everywhere.

I hear them when I'm lying in bed and thank am thankful I wasn't just drifting off.

Sadly the couple in the flat below us seem to talk louder as the evening goes on. Takes my mind off car hires though.

The Highway code said:
112

The horn. Use only while your vehicle is moving and you need to warn other road users of your presence. Never sound your horn aggressively. You MUST NOT use your horn

* while stationary on the road
* when driving in a built-up area between the hours of 11.30 pm and 7.00 am

except when another road user poses a danger.
