Lane 2 Tuesday

Is it now Lane 2 Tuesday? driving down the M18 today, I got stuck behind over 30 cars sat in lane 2 doing 45MPH - 55mph (2 lane motorway), gave them a flash, moved to lane 1, flashed to invite them in, pulled back to lane two, indicated, moved a bit closer to attract their attention, gestured invitingly to lane 1, moved to lane 1, flashed, got pissed off and undertook.
by the 6th car i was getting really pissed off....
but what the hell is going on, has the clock change made all the drivers totally oblivious to what is going on around them.
And i'm not exaggerating about the 45-55mph, and it wasn't only in the road works which are 50, although there were three 45mph drivers in lane two in that one.
Oh and i wasn't the only one undertaking them either, but they had plenty of room (over 1/2 a mile in front)

kers out yesterday. The "I'm more impotent than you" crowd as well.

Trucks elephant racing in the distance.
Car catching me in lane 2 (will be past me before I need to pull out before the trucks.
Van in lane 3 just visible on horizon. We should be past the trucks well before the van gets there.
Car passes me I indicate and pull out once it's a safe distance.
Car in lane 2 brakes hard, as do I being right behind it!
I indicate and pull in to lane 3, car in front swerves in to lane 3 without indication. We are not barely catching the trucks doing about 60.
As we are passing the trucks and I'm trapped behind the car. Mr impotent starts tailgating me, flashing, beeping, giving the wker sign etc.
I wonder if he wanted me to crash in to the truck, the car in front, the central barrier or brake? Who knows?

The traffic yesterday and today has been very bad all of a sudden - not sure what to ascribe it to. I generally join the M62 at Milnrow heading east at about 6.40 every day and the difference in traffic is noticeable. I've stayed well away from the "fast lane" - it's just bumper to bumper 90mph --- SLAM ON BRAKES --- 90mph --- SLAM repeat ad infinitum.
