RS6 audi - old shape looks more mean

Seen a few new shape ones recently and was in stop start next to one the other day to the point I checked it out properly and one thing I noticed the old shape looked more aggressive arches flared more. Maybe they wanted more Q car with the new shape but really I'd say ignoring age I'd rather the old one plus it has a v8 and it's been in layer cake wagwan biatch bluud

RS6 Plus 480bhp ... wow 4x4 estate BIG estate.
One think to dent it though in a drag race the rs6 and e39m5 get to 130mph in the same time - however the E55 AMG 5.5v8 supercharged gets to well over 150mph in that same drag race so 20mph faster .... Wowsers that's immense.
Still RS6 looks lovely C5 I believe. The performance these cars have are all way too much for the road so so what if the e55 really is the daddy in straight line willy waggling and measring.

An RS6 is indeed a lovely bit of kit, but they sure as hell don't put ou the claimed 480bhp - M5s easily rein them in ( I've done it in Germany - land on flat out).
Additionally, they're not cheap to run being similar in costs to an M5 with even more stonking brake replacement costs.
Still bloody lovely though, if a little anodyne in it's drive due to the front biased 4wd.

well true I'm assuming mpg on these are rarely over20mpg glup but for me your buying the performance and voice with that plus from the many focus st mpg threads it's highly similar tp hard driven examples yet has well over double the power and notably more weight. Revs at 70mph must be c2k as these tuned rs6's on you tube have them going well over 3p
00kmph with some over 320kmph. Lovely i'd guess an AC Cibra 427ci would still lol at it or wave and pull away hard

This is scarily true - seems that every time I'm at my local indie for a service, they've got an RS6/RS4 with its ludicrously expensive disc setup being replaced - horrendously expensive, even with the slightly better pricing of the indie.clonmult said:

However weren't they used rather successfully in a race series?

Great car. However I do think that model of Audi now looks very dated indeed.I often see a 53 plate RS6 on my early morning run into Leeds. It's normally tackling the NSL roads with much enthuiasm. He's gone past my M6 a few times.

I've never tried that hard to leave him behind. However following him off a roundabout the other morning and accelerating back to normal NSL road rates I was working the M6 hard to keep the (sensible) gap between the cars from opening up further. I suspect the low end grunt and 4x4 give the Audi the edge a lot of the time. He is also willing to drive at speeds I am not and hence whenever I see this car it's normally well in front of me before we leave the NSL roads. One reason why the RS6 is popular is its inherent tunability.With a catback exhaust and Stage 1 remap these things give 510bhp and 590lb/ft.

Some 6's are getting leggy but checkout RS246 forum there are some really very good cars for sale there and they are all well looked after.
