I was waiting in the car park of the DVLA office in Birmingham today when a low loader pulled into the car park towing this on a trailer.

I hadn't seen a Ferrari Daytona Spyder before so I had to go and have a look. According to the two
guys in the low loader this is one of two black RHD spyders in the world. They had brought the car
in so that it could be registered in this country as it was previously owned in Italy.

The guys were from one of the auction houses so once it has been registered it will be auctioned off. They reckon it will sell for at least £800k as the last time one of these was sold it went for almost £1 million.

It must have come from a collector in Italy as it was in pristine condition, not what you expect to see on an industrial estate in Birmingham!

Stunning, always loved those but never seen one in black before.

I was filling up in Fleet services a few years back and one pulled in, the most amazing sound! I stood there pretending to continue to fill my car for ages while he filled up just so I could hear him drive off!

everyone has always talked about how beautiful and pretty these cars are. I just dont see it. They just look like the typical 80's wedge super car. I'm not feeling the love at all....

It sounds like the auction house were registering it. Never underestiamte their ability to save a few £££ without mentionning it to the custoemr.

I call replica.
Something doesn't quite look genuine about it for a car in the early 70s? Maybe the indicator at that height on the side? The door mirror perhaps?

On that st old trailer? No chance, no chance at all.. Any money they save not getting a covered trailer, they'd lose getting the thing cleaned again! Looks like a dodgy day for weather, I just can't believe you'd have a potential million-quid car transported anywhere like that.

But hey, if a black Daytona comes up for sale in the near future, I shall sit down and shut up - in that case, excellent spot wink

I hope it was genuine as it makes me look like a complete idiot otherwise.

All I can say is if it was a replica it was a really good one and when the guy came out of the office and saw me having a look he almost ran over to ask me what I was doing.
