Car is an A6 Avant (1.9 TDI), had Pirelli P6000s put on the front earlier this year, and to be honest they're pretty dire. Traction control kicks in way too soon, and overall not that pleasant an experience. The previous no-name tyres had none of these problems o

However the rear tyres are going to need replacing very soon, so I intend to put the P6000s on the rear, and whatever new ones come along on the front.

So wondering what the suggestions would be from all here?

Don't do what you said. You need more grip at the back, not less.

Ditch the P6000 before they put you in one. Get some decent tyres all round - Hankook Ventus Prime, Goodyear Excellence and the like are more than adequate if yuo managed with P6000 Ditchfinders.

Goodyear eagle F1 asymetrics.

Excellent tyre and came 2nd in the recent EVO tyre test bowing only to the 50% more expensive michellins.

Check out Camskill for some very competitive prices...

vredestein Ultrac Cento, quieter and more econmical than most performance tyres, and better than most wet or dry, especially on mid sized FWD cars, and a little cheaper than premium ones too

Falken FK452.

Can't recommend them enough, it cost me less than £130 for two of them fitted in 205/40/17 and they perform (almost) as well as the Contisport 3's I had on before, which cost double the price.

If I were you I'd just replace them all around, the P6000 has a pretty shoddy reputation!

So an "all round" (do you mean all season?) tyre on the front and a P6000 on the rear? I guess you either LOVE oversteer or don't want to see the ditch you're about to crash into wink

If you're after a quality all season the 2 best are currently the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons and the Vredestein Quatrac 3 - don't let the poor results put you off, they're from winter tyre tests which heavily bias their scoring towards snow where the winter tyres naturally out perform the all season.

Uniroyal RainSport 2. I've had nothing but good experiences with Uniroyals and the Rainsport 2 are very highly recommended.
