Has anyone bought a car just because of the sound it makes and only that?

I've just bought a Bravo HGT because of this. Went to look at the car, no service history, central locking doesn't work, smells a bit of wet dogs...but as soon as I opened it up...sold!

Always been a fan of the 5 pot but didn't realise these sounded so good. Sorted the central locking and the smell and now have a top car. smile

If I was rich I'd buy a 355 for the sound alone. The looks and performance would just be the icing on the cake.

I was introduced into Cerbera ownership by the noise of one driving past my house.

That Monaro video is nigh on pointless, who would have guessed if you tried recording a video on a camera phone by holding it out the window of a car doing 70 mph you would hear, well, just wind noise.

TVR sold it to me just by noise alone, but then you get onto the way it goes cloud9

1985 Corvette. Outside it sounded like the gates of hell had opened. Inside, it sounded like you were being followed by a squadron of Lancasters. Went to kick the tyres if I'm honest but drove it away.

Volvo 850 20valve - spec was st, it was an ugly saloon in a dull colour but THAT engine and THAT 5 pot noise - had 143bhp but always felt like loads more it would also freely rev to 7250rpm something it did every day with me behind the wheel! My current t5 neither revs as high or sounds as good as that 2.0 did
