Which bit of the road traffic act or highway code states that you can just stick your arm out of the window and stop the taffic so that you can barge into a space that simply doesnt exist in front of my car?? Then when i dont immediately let you in and continue with the normal flow of traffic give me a mouthful of abuse??? tosser

I honestly genuinely hate bus w@nkers, they think they have the god given right to pull out without looking, indicating, caring about who has to slam the brakes on to avoid them, they stop in bloddy stupid places impeding traffic flow, run red lights, drive at 15mph so they keep their time tables with no care for the other 100 vehicles they are holding up.

Honestly absolute selfish bellends to a man, every single one of them!
Out of curiousity, where abouts did this outrageous act of road-hoggery occur? London or a large city by any chance?

I understand where you are coming from. I used to have a similar view of taxi drivers until a friend and passenger simply said to me "They are just trying to do their job, it must be frustrating". So now, if a bus/taxi pisses me off, I just shrug my shoulders and remain calm.

Peace out, man. hippy

Haven't you read the new law that states that bus drivers and taxi drivers can carry out any manouvre they wish on any road?
Seems to be a common ocurrence in Liverpool now that buses indicate and pull out even if there is no space to pull into.
Learnt to live with it tbh.

I always thought it was in the Highway Code that you had to give way to buses pulling out?

The problem is they think they are the ONLY ONE person on the road doing their job...

Have you not heard that the hardest driving test to be taken is the bus test, as no fker has ever passed it.
Bus drivers are just slightly higher up the driving scale than taxi drivers, both seem to think they own the roads.
It does say in the highway code to allow buses to pull out if it is safe to do so, but some drivers think you should
jump on the brakes so they can go.
Must be a countrywide occurance.

It's not a MUST, so no. Balls to'em smile

Buses, coaches and trams. Give priority to these vehicles when you can do so safely, especially when they signal to pull away from stops. Look out for people getting off a bus or tram and crossing the road.

And with an attitude to 'them' like that (which does seem to be the attitude of many car drivers), should you find it a surprise to find a bus driver treating you with the same level of respect?

I often find that putting myself in the other persons situation (in this case the bus driver's) helps me gain a bit of perspective on things like this.

For all you know he's worked a long shift, suffered a load of abuse and stick off a load of awkward passengers, and has been sat waiting to pull out of a stop for several minutes and selfish b*stards just keep driving past him and not letting him out. Maybe that's why he lost his rag.

I know they all take the piss out of him on Top Gear but James May has it right with the christian motorist thing. If people were a bit calmer and a bit more considerate and less selfish on the roads, I think things would flow a lot better sometimes!

I usually give buses the space they need. I'll let them pull out or turn across my path etc. The way I see it is that there's usually a bus stop within the next few hundred yards, so I'm only really going to be inconvenienced for a few seconds.

Exactly the same gripe north of the border too. Had one the other day where a bus was side by side with me, indicated when I was level with the driver and almost sideswiped me, cue blast of horn, I go through then he decides to sit 3mm off my rear bumper flashing lights and making hand gestures. Yes, I understand that the Highway Code says "let buses out IF IT IS SAFE TO DO SO", not allow a bus level with you to squash your small Fiat.
Had another one too, 2 lanes at traffic lights to go straight on over a crossroad. Bus in left lane, me in right, although there is a car in front of me. Lights go green, car in front hesitates but then speeds off, me and bus proceed at normal speed. Enough room on the other side for 2 wide, however the bus decides he wants to move somewhere in the middle of the two lanes, almost forcing me into the traffic light. Cue beep, then I slot in behind the bus, which then stops to let a passenger off.
Yes, I understand driving a bus full of neds and generally undesirable types is perhaps the most depressing and soul sucking job in the history of anything, but that's no reason to act the arse to others.

Problem is, it only take 1 person to ruin the whole thing (you are right though). Driving anywhere in the country has now become a nightmare. It used to be city centre driving, but now you could be cut up on a country lane.

Made me laugh when I seen on TV that in India they say "might is right", who ever is biggest rules.

Oh, stop it. The point is that 'they' think they can drive like that, their employers even think they can act like that, but the FACT is that they have no more right to dictate how other road users have to act then you or me. If there's a gap and I can let them in, I might, blimey I probably will it's not going to ruin my day. I might extend the same courtesy to you. But if they, or you, attempt to barge and intimidate their way in, in front of me, well I might not be quite so courteous.

Tell me this picture isn't implying something much more than it actually says...

I had a similar incident about 10 years ago on Shandwick Place in Edinburgh.Almost level with the front axle when in one fluid motion the indicator comes on and the bus pulls out in front of me,so the driver incurs the coffee shaker sign to which he replies by sticking a hand out of the window and pointing at his indicator.

That was a red rag to the proverbial bull.At the next stop I pulled in in front of the bus and the only thing that stopped me from taking the drivers head off was the fact that my girlfriend at the time got a good grip of my top and between that and her seatbelt stopped me getting out of the car!!

In Bournemouth the other week, horrendous traffic queues due to a traffic light problem so the Police rock up to ease the flow. I let a bus out of a side road and he needs to turn across me. He is centimeters from my front bumper as he turns, the parking sensors go off, so I blast the horn. What am I met with "Bloody hell buddy, I can f***ing see you, I am a professional, after all".

bks I thought, and politely reversed back a few inches which I would have done gladly anyhow, had he not just gone through like a bull in a china shop.

All that bus was missing was Reg Varney, Blakey and that one with the huge teeth....!

Years ago when I used a bus for school and the bus drivers were not behind their plasic screens I was on a bus when it had a ruck with a guy, usual mouthing off hand gesters etc then the car roared off up the road, we all thought it was great the bus driver was giving it large

About 10 mins later bus pulled in to a stop, some bloke wiht his arm out, the bloke gets on the bus and smashed the bus driver in the face wiht a good punch, followed up by severalmore punches

then turs to everyone on the bus and said if he thinks he is big and want to force me off the road again same place tomorrow and get off the bus, we could only assume this was the bloke from the car

But I agree bus drivers, Taxi drivers, van drivers etc, you may be doing a job, but like most of us so are we, so stop giving the large, if you had a decent education then you would not be driving a bus full of kids and OAP.
