I got mine from Craigs Plates but as it's an import it meets slightly different legislation.

See my profile pic to give you an idea.

Halfords, or any motor parts place will do it.

Digit means numbers. Character would have been a better description.

Do you mean a shortened plate?

Or a normal sized plate with 5 letters/numbers

Legal shortened plate i think its 390mm wide.

To be legal i believe it needs the BS number and stamp and have the correct size letters and spacing

I dont think its fully legal if you chop a full size plate down as i think the BS number is normally in the corner so you loose it.

as long as it is bs marked an is the correct spacing etc you can cut it down. the legal requirement is to have a minimum of an 11mm border all the way around.

Not to be funny or anything, but do you actually have the rights to a 5 character plate?

Or do you just want one?

If it's on the car already, or on retention, anywhere should do it for you.

Failing that.... eBay.

Scanned or faxed copies are fine for Craigs PLates. That's all I sent them.

I know it has been illegal in England for a number of years, but used to be legal in Scotland, not sure about now.
