Another what car

I'm looking at replacing my E46 M3 at the moment.
My criteria is as follows:
- Economy is not essential, neither is the tax band. Obviously the lower the better.
- Has to be practical, no smaller than the M3.
- Less than 4 years old (company rules)
- Up to £14k.
So far I've test driven a BMW 330d E90 and a VW Golf R32.
Other models that fit the criteria and interest me are the E60 BMW 5 series (530i in particular) and the wild card choices - a Mazda 6 MPS and an Alpina D3.
Which of these would you recommend and what other suggestions could you make? I'm sure there is something obvious I am missing!
