New Ways To Endanger Road Users: No. 375
Electric unicycle/skate combo. Sliced bread looks to its laurels. Again.
What will they think of next - an electric unicyle you can use to power-up your inline skates and reach 30mph with 'no hands'? Nah. Nobody would be that stupid!
But wait...
It's all true. The device is called the FlyRad, as you'll know by now. (Assuming you've just watched the video.)
You can probably expect hordes of them to start filling up the 'cyclist only' zone at your local traffic light soon. Or perhaps not.
Still, it looks like a laugh - especially for everyone else when you drop a skate into a pothole at 30mph. Oof!
(Thanks to PHer Gadgeroonie for pointing us to Gizmag. And no, that's not him pictured on the right.)
Discussion
Looks "fun" but where are you going to be able to use it?
30mph means you cannot use it on pavements and as it goes over 15mph doesn't that mean it'll need tax, MOT, plates and the user insurance?
Seems to make rollerblading more complex than it needs. If you're going to commute why would you want the extra bulk?
Anyway fun but pointless.

30 mph, on rollerblades - with farty little wheels - on rutted, potholled British roads that regularly square-off 18"+ alloy wheels. Yeah right.
As someone who once lacked sufficient imagination that they would catch lifts off the back of old Route masters around London in the mid'90's potholes would be the least of my worries...
Listen to you all. ....don't pay road tax...... Dangerous.....ban them...blah blah blah. What the duck is the matter with everyone. Seems as though our health and safety obsessed society is rubbing of on everyone. Let's all just walk around wearing hi vis vests and a lawyer on speed dial in case we trip. Riding a sports bike is dangerous but bloody good fun and I'd be happy die doing 200 rather than stuck in a hospital full of tubes waiting for the reaper to come along. Stick a hyabusa engine in it and I'll test it for them
