Well yesterday you all put me wise to the Jaguar Porsche Boxster Choice but then I didnt think I could afford a Benz Now I found SL500's new shape on autotrader from 12.5K to 14k for a 2003 car.
The XKR is very pretty and is up for 12K on an X (2001) Convertable with 100k on the clock.
Seems that at this age everything I like is about 100k miles so I can live with that, I get bored easily and hate dealerships who charge you for thinking about a service.
So am I best off buying the XKR or should I get a Benz seems that feul cost's arnt my worry its the maintaence and fear factor if something does go horrible.
As always any comments greatfully recieved.
Over to you!

I dont believe you will find much in it between the two on maintenance. The Jag is a lovely car but I would go for the Mercedes if it was my money. This one ticks the boxes for me...

Your budget has shot up somewhat in the last couple of days.
They are expensive cars, they are going to be expensive to run, and expensive to fix. If you're stretching to buy the car at that price, i really don't advise it, it'll cripple you the first time something goes wrong.
And something will.
Agree. Should never stretch your budget to cover the car alone. They are expensive cars, they are going to be expensive to run, and expensive to fix. If you're stretching to buy the car at that price, i really don't advise it, it'll cripple you the first time something goes wrong.

It would be the SL for me with a good couple of grand set aside, at that mileage some big bills are on their way for sure.
Its still a £60k+ car run.
