Just seen my first Nissan Juke - It's a funny looking thing
Discussion
Pretty much as the title says really.
Interestingly it was parked behind a mk1 Citroen C5, and the Citroen dwarfed it, i mean, i know the first C5 was a pretty big car, but the Juke looked tiny. Even more interestingly, the C5 was parked behind a mk5 Golf. From a distance of about 30m, they look about the same size. Not the body, but the whole thing. The roofline was about the same height as the Golf, and the overall length was probably quite similar. Maybe the Golf was a tad longer, but not more than 6 inches. But then the baseline of the car was a lot higher, as were the wheel arches. The wheels themselves are tiny, making the car look a lot bigger when you see it on its own, but parked up among other cars, it looked weird.
I'm still not decided on the styling and bodywork though. It looks ugly, but then curvy and flowing at the same time. The roofline slants backwards as well, which i'm not too keen on. As with all unusual cars, we will grow to get used to them. We all remember when BMW revamped their cars around 2003 when the Bangle cars came out, and they were considered to be very unusual and very ugly. Now if we see one on the road they appear to be the norm and very plain. The same could be said for the last Megane and the latest Civic.
Will this one be a grower? Or will it just die a death. Nissan seem very keen to market this car, so i guess that future cars in the pipeline may have the same design language. Only time will tell i guess.

I agree, it does look better in the flesh than in pictures. Has anyone else noticed just how smll the rear doors are on it aswell. They have had to make the front one quite large to be useable frequently, but the rear door is almost getting on for RX8 size. I think it would benefit from being a 3 door like the earlier Honda HRV's with the 5 door option. The lights dont seem too horizontal in real life either.
