No idea how to do them properly, I just fold the edges in with pliers then pinch them up with crimpers. Doesn't seem the correct way to do it but you could always solder them too (perhaps the reason why they aren't insulated to start with?)
That's the one, I've bent and soldered them in the past but I'm sure there's a crimp tool to do them properly.

Cost me around £40 but I've since seen them for less. Still not as cheap as even the decent ratchet insulated type crimpers though. I got mine from a custom wiring loom manufactuer at a kit car show.

You use an Erma crimp tool for those. It folds the tabs over so they bite into the wire. I've never had one come loose in 20 years or more.
