another cold weather tyre question.

I can only choose from the two above.

The goodyear is about £25 more expensive for all 4 tyres.

Please note it is not he ultragrip 7 or performace 2, just the ultragrip performance.

I want the least expensive performance tyre that is good for cold weather and would not get stuck in snow compared to summer tyres. Car is RWD.

Ultragrip Performance looks like an Excellence with a few sipes added. Wintrac Xtreme looks like a proper winter tyre. smile

I've used the Wintrac on a Lancer, and they're very, very good tyres. Unstoppable in winter, and performed better in summer than the Toyo T1R on my summer rims, to the point where I left the Wintracs on all year.

Henry..

I have the Wintracs. Have done 260 miles on them now and they are coming good.

They gave silly grip in the wet yesterday.

wintrac extreme seem to be safer bet then, and they are a £7 a tyre cheaper.

The Continental ContiWinterContact TS810's are excellent too. Not silly money, easily available, and with great reviews across the board for noise, grip, performance and stopping distance in rain and snow.

I suggest buying whichever you can find in stock

I have a feeling there arent many Wintracs in the UK at the moment

+1

If you want Winter tyres buy the best you can find, just ordered mine tonight after spending one and half hours looking for some where with the size I want in stock, should have ordered them when I first started looking beggining of October, would have saved me £90.
