Last time I had a respray done on one of my cars I literally handed it over and picked it up when complete.

This time, I'd like to do as much of the prep work as possible myself.

So, what do I need to do? The car will be stripped back to pretty much just a shell. I can remove the glazing. There's rust that I'll leave for them to sort out, but what's the right way to strip off the paint that's on there currently?

Hit me with the info chaps thumbup

First find a bodyshop that are willing to paint a self prepped car.

Although the principle is virtualy the same for all paint jobs, individual shops and their painters all have their favoured method of attack.

I've always used Owlsbury Accident Repair for my paintwork ( www.owlsbury.co.uk) and I'm sure they'd paint it if I prep it.

I could just ask them what I need to do, but it's Friday evening so I thought I'd ask here instead!
