.....looks like the mods are your problem.....and maybe age?.....TBH £400 ain't the end of the world....in fact depending on what mods you are telking about it might be damned cheap.

I wouldn't have thought comparison sites would be that good having mods? Try Flux APlan etc.

I'd say £400 is pretty reasonable with mods declared - insurance prices have gone a bit mad since last year.

i can barely get below £300 for my diesel shed - and i'm 28 with 6 years ncb.

I pay £680 to insure my E39 528 frown I'm 23 with 5 years no claims. It's a piss take, insurance company told me that it was because loads of people crashed in the snow last winter.

I was looking for prices on an old Accord - 28 with 7 year NCD, no accidents or points. Couldn't get below 550 with just me on the policy

I managed to get my insurance down to £370 for the year, not bad as i was reneweled at £600!!!! Ive payed it in 1 go today so no extra charges are drawn. I mentioned street scene/pistonheads which knocked it down £30 more. So anyone who has there car insurance up for renewel any time soon do not stress any further, my advice is to find your cheapest quote ringing or fill in as many forms online for the cheapest quote, once you have your cheapest quote ring HSBC PREMIUM they promise to beat your price and knock it down 10%. I then rang my original company ADRIAN FLUX and said "can you beat my HSBC PREMIUM quote?" ADRIAN FLUX then knock it down a few quid then you tell them your a member of street scene so my insurance has gone down too £370 in total. Gilbo is one happy chappy he saved £230 from my original quote just shows you gotta stop being lazy and look around, which can be hard i admit smile

I have two other party at fault accidents on my file so it costs me £2022.18 to insure a 1988 Rover 213S! censored

The maximum penalty for IN10 is £1000 and six points. No wonder so many drivers drive without insurance it's by far the cheaper option. I'm paying 17.6% of my wages insuring a worth 20% of the policy. Grrrrr!

just been looking at this and my quote on a mr2 '96 model was £1100 without any NCB and £1300 with 1 years NCB, now I'd have thought it'd go down not up with 1 years NCB?

No way I would be paying that. If that was the cheapest option to drive a car, I wouldn't. 1 yrs insurance premiums would buy a banger commuter motorcycle and decent heated riding gear.

I wonder if it'll go up much if I put a 2.2 Prelude engine in there? scratchchin
