I really hoped VW had seen the light and killed this off for good!

I'm hoping that the car in the shots is just someones home modified example, not a prototype.

It does look like a well-executed chopped roof example of a current Beetle. The front and rear detailing appears (to me) identical - even the rear light clusters.

They are suppose to drive ok (current one) from what I read in the press.

There is a 1.8 turbo with 150/180bhp, and also 2.3 v5 which is 150/170bhp if I remember right.

The idea of a 1.8 turbo which looks like a normal beetle outside but tuned to the same power as the leon cupra r really appeals to me makes it a bit of a sleeper.

Tis a repost. New model, with chopped look is due - though destined for US market only if rumours are to be believed.

We had (well wife had a V5 sport edition) it was crap really fell apart by the three year 60,000 mile point and didnt ever feel like it really had 170hp was slow and thristy really , handled well though

they didnt come with a flower only a vase the flower was extra
