Looking to upgrade the headlight bulbs on my car as I'm doing a lot of night time driving on unlit roads at the moment. Came across these and they seem fairly well regarded. Wondering if anyone could answer a couple of questions...

Has anyone had any issues with dazzling other people?
Should I change just dipped beam or dipped & full beam?

...or suggest any other alternatives?

I was looking at HID kits but they really don't seem worth the expense and seem like much more of a hassle to fit!

Great bulbs that make a huge difference even on a bang up to date car. Your dipped and main will be the same bulb so it's just a pair you'll need. PowerBulbs is a good site to get them from.

Not necesarily, there are plenty of cars with seperate dip and main beam bulbs.

Fitted some to my MK2 Golf some years back and they really transformed the night time driving - H4s which served as main and dipped beam plus standard spots which worked on the main beam too.

Just fitted a set to my C class (bulb went on Friday, MOT on tuesday rolleyes ) and again they're a massive improvement over the OEM bulbs to the point where I'd say they're better than some cars I've driven with factory fit HIDs.

Pricey (for bulbs) but so worth it. Also don't make the car look chavy like some Halfords ones do.

Superb bulbs, I've fitted them to my 330d. My last cars have had factory fit Xenons and these run them very close.

You can get them on eBay for about £14 delivered. No brainer.

Just fitted them to my brothers mk6 golf. Huge difference.

Just fitted the 100% versions (expensive), compared the OEM LL bulbs these are brighter and have a longer range.

On some cars yes, but on the OPs Twingo, it is in fact two sets of H4.

Echo the above. Certainly a worthwhile purchase.

PXV's are good as are Nightbreakers.

Also worth a look in your local Halfrauds for their "100%+" range, often on BOGOF.

But they still work out at £20 per pair.

I`ve got Nightbreakers, they`re pretty good.

Halfrauds lamps are rebranded Ring lamps, I've used them in the past and they are ok but they don't last very long (3 or 4 months last time I used them).

Philips Extreme's are great and you should get circa 12 months out of a set.

Cheers all!

Looks like I'll be getting some then - just confirmed the bulb sizes with the manual.

There's a seller on eBay doing the "Philips Extreme Power" ones for £18 with a free set of sidelight bulbs (W5W-501) if anyone else is interested.

Hmm, might check my wallet. I do a lot of night driving. I don't know how this has never occurred to me.
