Dammit, just beaten to it. Does a Sonata qualify as a luxobarge? The barge part I can see.

Well I'm guessing in comparison to a 1980 Skoda Estelle it gets the luxo bit? Seriously though, barge yes, luxury certainly not

The only real thing that sticks out is the sat nav, feature wise it's no more impressive than a decent spec focus or Astra. Don't get me wrong it's a lot of car for probably not a lot of money but it's also evidence that you can't roll a turd in glitter and call it something that it isn't

To be fair, it looks like an Audi. Not so sure if that's a good thing though.

What engine does it have?

Does not qualify on either count - more a wellequipedbutblandbudgetsaloon than a luxobarge

In the OP's defence, I rented one of these for a week a couple of years ago. The week before I had a toyota camry hybrid, and actually I was surprised at the quality of the Hyundai in comparison, it was at least as good as the camry.

Strictly speaking though its no Luxobarge in the PH sense of the phrase

Wow, and what almighty powerhouse propels a barge of such lavish appointment? A 2 litre petrol/diesel I hear you say. Oh.... Well at least it's got 6 speakers.

Boot open warning light, you say? How long are you planning to keep it for, because you might have a problem with these complex advanced systems in a few years time?
