Insurance Question; Temp Addresses?
Discussion
I'll try and keep it short.
I've been looking at MX5s for a while now, but can never get insurance at a reasonable price. I've looked at Classic insurance with a limited mileage, and normally when that came up any company I tried requested the driver to be over 21. It also seemed as if most of them wouldn't cover Northern Ireland, or the majority of their companies backed out after hearing N.I mentioned. I have heard that Adrian Flux and another company will insure you if you're under 21, so I'm going to try that.
So now I'm living in Liverpool, and I will be on and off for the next four years at least. The thing is though, at the minute my address is temporary as I'm living in Student Accommodation.. How does this come into play with insurance, does it matter much? It could turn out that if I went for it I could have the car sitting over here for a few weeks, then possibly take it home, let it stay in Northern Ireland for a while, then do the same throughout the year taking it back and forth? Now that I have a UK address to insure from I'm hoping it will open me up to more companies for insurance. If I was to buy an MX5, register it at my address in Northern Ireland, and then insure it based at my address in Liverpool would this have any increase in the premium compared to being registered and kept in Liverpool?
I think that's it for now, I'm not sure if there was something else.. Any input's appreciated, I'll try and give AF a call later when I get a chance. Or are there any other companies to try?

most insurance companies will go by where the car is kept the majority of the time, so if you spend 10 weeks at home and 42 weeks at uni/college address then the college address needs to be where the car is kept, although some insurance companies will charge for the highest rated address as thats where they are more likely to pay out
