Straightforward poll. A few points to note:

1) If your car is discontinued then pick the nearest new alternative, e.g. Sierra Cossie = Focus RS.

2) If your car is discontinued and there is no new alternative, e.g. Toyota MR2, then go and find something else to do.

3) Forget the financial implications. I can smell the burning as PHers cogs turn and they realise that they can say "I would swap and then sell the new car and buy the old one again and have loads of money", or something similar. Pretend that fuel is running out and it's for your last week of driving ever or something.

FWIW, I wouldn't swap my 993 C2 for a 997 C2. Prefer the feel, character, noise, looks, and effort involved in piloting mine.

The floor is yours!

No, Mk.1 MX5, the new version looks too fat, the wheels are too big and it doesn't have pop-up headlights smile

The Audi A3 yes at a drop of a hat I would swap it for the newer version if it didn't cost me anything, why not I imagine there wouldn't be much difference appart from a warranty and 70k less miles.

The Mini no thanks I will stick with the classic I had a new cooper and its not the same as the classic.

landrover defender 300tdi, the new one is a landrover defender Puma

I say no as the new one has an electronic overlord and a new dashboard but worst of all they have deleted the caveman AC, would like the 6spd gearbox however

Don't particularly like my current car. BMW e34 525tds. Bought for a purpose, now I no longer need a big car and want to sell it. However, I would happily drive a new 530d.

See, that's what I'm talking about, a perfect summary.

Much as I would like to be able to say "No, I ain't parting with BG for anything", I have to say yes.

I would swop a 1990 Turbo R for a 2011 Mulsanne.

DB9, yes. They keep improving it and the new one's suspension means no need for the sports pack (necessary before if you wanted a properly involving drive). I'm tempted by V12Vs at the moment though.

M5, yes probably once the new one comes along.

No, I wouldn't have a 370Z:

- design is too fussy
- the synchro rev thing is just a gimmick! Why not learn to match revs like a grown-up?
- it's not much of a step forward in therms of power or performance
- the interior build quality of my car is pretty st. I wouldn't take risk of assuming that the new car is much better.

The Elise - no, I don't like the Toyota engined cars as much.

The MG... well I guess that would mean a TF which might actually work, at least some of the time, so yes I'd probably swap and give it to the wife.

The Punto, absolutely.

That would mean I had a Pug 208cc

To be honest, I think I look quite gay enough.

hell yes. '95 fiesta. Would love to own the current fiesta. much more quiet, smoother ride, significantly quieter engine and cabin, and 50mpg as opposed to my poor 35mpg.

I love the dependability of my E36 328i Coupe but if I'm right, the equivalent top of the range (non-M) 3 series is the 335i Coupe.

I'd settle for that.

Yes.

Golf GTi mk2 8v -> Erm, Golf GTI?

Why? Everything fking rattles, the rear screen doesn't work, the bumper has bits of badger on it (RIP), the rear OS wheel is buckled, it kicks up blue smoke in the morning, it's got bits of badger stuck in the grill, the lights are held in with gaffer tape, the rear end of the car is about five inches lower than the front, the topmounts are loose, the wheel bearings are noisey, the paint is peeling on the bonnet, the exhaust is too noisey and every fker either assumes I'm a boy racer or drives about a metre from my arse. Fortunately I can't fking see them anymore.

So for that reason I'm oot.

Can we have an option for those with multiple cars?

I'd swap the Jag for a new XJ but I definitely wouldn't swap either of the Beetles for a new one (or a Golf).

I'd like the increase in mpg and size as well as losing the rust of a new XJ.

New beetles are just st in every way.
