Garage Recommendation - Herts

I've been living in the Bishop's Stortford areas for a couple of years now and have used a couple of local places for work on my car.

Whilst nobody has disappointed me as such, I do miss a one-man band garage I used to use elsewhere in the country where the labour rate was clear and they did only as you asked and made sensible suggestions. I don't like being told I need, 'Super/Gold Service A for just £xxx' which achieves 10 things when I only want/need 2 done!

Ramble over. Any suggestions for a knowledgeable, traditional garage in the Bishop's Stortford / Stansted area which could assist please! Any thoughts, much appreciated.

Bit further out than storford but I use a one man band out near dunmow called Rob Whitwell Motor engineer, decent honest bloke with reasonable prices.

Hi I have used this guy for many years and he is very thorough and reasonably priced.

Right next to Audley End train station. Handy from Bishops Stortford

I would recommend him to anyone

Woo5ie, thanks for your thoughts. I'm new(ish) to the area so I'm trying to build a bank of knowledge on a few things. Although a car in need of some attention is more a priority than others!

See from your profile you're in comms/pbx. Did you ever have any dealings with ATC/Servassure/Daisy down in Harlow? Only ask because I used to, although not in an engineering capacity.
