They're Out to Get ME!!!!
Discussion
Today on a 40 Mile round trip I came across so many motorists who just made me grind me teeth together.
1st 20 miles
1 - BMW 325 Driver who just point blank refused to go over 40MPH on a NSL B road. Fair enough, if he doesnt have the confidence to drive this road quickly I'll be patient until opportunity comes to overtake. As its a road I know very well I've decided on a point where I could overtake providing there is no oncomming cars.
As I've established it was safe to do so I signal and pull right to begin my manouver, at this point the BMW was cruising at 30mph, and as I pull out and begin my manouver he puts his foot down!!! Accelerating up to 60 MPH, at which point I just drop back and pull in behind it again.
I thought to myself, "ok this guy must think he has too much pride to be overtaken..." and i let it settle following him with caution as I've decided he's unpredictable. What astonished me the most was how even coming out of the NSL doing 40MPH most of the way he continues on that speed through the town which is a 30 limit which then also turns to 20 limit for the kids. Just why?
2nd 20 Mile trip.
On way home from uni, again on back roads, many drivers are determined to kill me.
Surely if I can see the other cars headlights before the bend and turn my full beam off before they've reached the corner they've got the same amount of opportunities to do the same? I had the dazzle of 1 headlight for so long i actually had to put on my brakes and protect my eyes!!!
Then there's the many drivers this evening who cannot contemplate that cars from both sides of the road are trying to turn the same corner at different directions!!! Had to swerve a couple of times as other cars like to cut corners.
But the creme de creme is the lovely Lexus 4x4 driver who likes to combine both full beam in the eye and cutting corners (or rather taking up the whole road) while driving towards me... At this point I actually had to swerve towards the barrier with no more than a foot between me and the barrier and a foot between my car and his car... All keeping in mind that this road, although seems tight, would be more than sufficient to handle 2 and a half cars, big cars. I'd guess he probably had more than 1.5M between his car and the barrier on his side... If you cant drive a big car and know the size of your big car then why buy one???
Rant over.

Unfortunately the standard of UK driving is appalling and will only get worse. The emphasis from every angle is on speed and providing you don't break the speed limit you can pretty much get away with anything. This is why motorways are full of f
kwits driving in the middle and outside lane when the inside lane is empty. Why people insist on joining the 40mph club and somehow think its appropriate to drive at this speed absolutely everywhere.
People do see the road as a battlefield and increasing numbers of them find it funny to irritate other drivers, either that or they are completely braindead. As not to lose all hope on British society altogether we can only hope it's the first option!
