Ebay/paypal transaction
Discussion
I am selling an item on ebay and someone has offered to buy the item for the full asking buy it now price. But im slightly paranoid the buyer might be dodgy.
The buyer is paying by paypal. But what steps can i take to protect myself? Once i get paid, will the money definetly be mine? I dont want paypal later on to take the money back and also loosing the item.

I can tell you from experience that the money is NOT yours, just because it's in paypal. They can still issue what's called a chargeback which is when they claw back the money from your paypal account. If you have no money in your paypal account, your balance simply turns negative and they will eventually write to you to demand that you pay the money back into paypal. I speak from experience. The only thing that I would advise you is for you to post the item to the paypal registered address, and use royal mail special delivery if it's valuable.
Under no circumstances allow the person to pay by paypal and then for them to collect the item from you - this is exactly how I got duped when some f----g scrote came to my house and went off with a brand new Wii console, a few years ago.
