Decent UK Vauxhall Vectra forum?

Hi,

I'm looking at buying a Vectra C 3.0 V6 CDTi SRi. I've searched autotrader and PH clasifieds but wondered if there's a decent sized VX or Vectra forum out there where I can scour the cars for sale threads?

For a non-specialist car AT will be the automatic choice.

You'll be lucky to find any, very few were sold and even fewer would have found their way into the hands of enthusiasts. In fact the only ones i've seen belong to TVP

Get the Signum equivalent instead - probably more of them IMO with that engine

Who?! Yes, they are rare in Vectra form and less rare in Signum form. I think you'll find more Elite models with the engine you want than you will SRi.

I used to drive one at work, they are REALLY bad cars. Awful handling, no performance, and very plasticky nasty interiors.

Was it comfortable for motorway driving? (I currently do about 250miles on motorways on a monday, and then 250 miles back home on a tuesday and my next car needs to be able to munch these miles!) i.e. how are the seats etc? Did you ever wish you had leather/heated as per Elite rather than the sport seats in the SRi?

How was the midrange? I see the 0-60 will be similar to my wife's 2.2 Astra Coupé but that doesn't gurarantee midrange, although I'd expect the vectra to be better with the 3.0 V6 diesel. I want something which is nice and smooth and swift for getting back up from say 50mph (when stuck behind a truck in lane 2 of a dual carriageway) to about 70-80mph cruising speed.

Is the engine smooth/quiet (I hope so being a V6) or a bit 'bangy' (don't know how to describe that better.)

If the police use them then am I right in thinking that it must be reaonably quick and comfy at the same time as being fairly inexpensive to buy? (I know I could get something german but at any budget the german car will have higher miles than the equivalent spec vauxhall.)

No idea if it's the same one. I want something bigger than the 1.9CDTi so it was either the 2.2 or the 3.0 V6 CDTi. I've been told the 2.2 diesel is an old engine and it's not common rail, so I should get either of the new common rail ones, those being the 1.9 or 3.0, so 3.0 it is - unless there's a really bad problem with them?
