McLaren F1 racing car for sale - cheap?
Discussion
I've just seen this - David Coultard's 2000 F1 car:

for £50k?
Is it just me but is that not ridiculously cheap? I guess it's got no engine or something very expensive? It would make one hell of a trackday car for someone with the cash!
EDIT - OK in the description it describes this as a "showcar" so I guess it doesn't run. could you get a Hayabusa engine in perhaps?

DC running out of cash??
As stated earlier would look great hanging from the wall.
I think his sister ran the DC museum up in Scotland but unsuprisingly interest has tailed off in the last few years so they closed it down. Im guessing its one of several he's got and has probably decided to have a clear out rather than store them all.As stated earlier would look great hanging from the wall.

That makes me chuckle for some reason!

"Unlike most showcars, having been built by the manufacturer for the driver it is virtually indistinguishable from the real car"
Some have real parts like carbon fibre suspension (usually parts which have have no more "life", or in otherwords is worn out), while others just have metal items instead. And some have real carbon brake discs with the right (but old) calipers, while others may have some steel ones with misc calipers on it - it will have working brakes at least!!! Show cars often don't have bodywork as thick as on the race car - A few years back a team took a show car to a full size wind tunnel in the US, and it cracked all the bodywork! But the one way to be sure a McLaren is a real chassis, or a show car, is to look for the metal plate in the tub by the seat. If it is real, it will have MP4-17/02 or something, while a show car will have SCxxx.

fit a console and run your face racing game through it via HD projector

Dam! Beat me two it, that would be the ultimate play seat for GT5, just add a G27 steering wheel and pedals and away you go. Oh hang on a second one of the fathers at my kids school has done that already, not only that but his comes with a virtual reality helmet as well
