How the hell do I undo this??
Discussion
Sorry for what i'm sure is a stupid question, but i need a quick answer. (As soon as I have an actual answer feel free to take the mick)

Two hoses going through the bulkhead to the heater matrix (by the dipstick). One has jubiliee clips, which is fine. How the hell do I undo the other one???
Yours stumped,
Mr MXT

Handy tip:
If using mole grips and removing the clip from the hose, whilst it’s still compressed by the grips, put it in a plastic bag and then release the grips . . . . . . These clips have a lovely habit of going ping and vanishing at great speed into the deepest darkest recesses of the engine bay or garage!

Probably the best place for them! Then you have an excuse to fit a Jubilee clip If using mole grips and removing the clip from the hose, whilst it’s still compressed by the grips, put it in a plastic bag and then release the grips . . . . . . Yes no problem re-using them so long as you don't knacker it trying to slide it back.

Why not replace it with a jubilee clip?

If it's a crappy one- which most are, they round off at the mere sight of a screwdriver. Best to keep the lubed with coppa slip or similar- especially if they catch a load of road salt & grime.
They both have their merrits in certain circumstances. I've never had one of those clips leak either. I have seen broken jubilees from over tightening & corrosion.
I had to replace those very same hoses on my '5. The compression clips were an absolute sodding nightmare, because if they are oriented the wrong way then you need hands the size of a 5 year old with the strength of hulk hogan to be able to reach down and get the pliers or Vise-Grips to them. It's cramped enough in there, even after removing the coil packs! Jubilees are the way to go.
