Just been watching the Race of Champions. Quite entertaining it was too.
At one point in an interlude between races some chap did a s
t load of doughnuts in a blue Evo. He stopped and left the car standing for a 30secs or so then drove off. Leaving what appeared to be some kind of liquid on the tarmac where each rear tyre had been. Was this coolant or what? Did the car have something rigged up to spray lubricant on to the tyres to aid the doughnuts?

Evo's can do doughnuts!
I bought one of the ex Russ Swift E6 RS models, the one that was in a Clarkson video, the car was standard, Russ told me he just used to pump the tyres up to reduce the grip levels.

Spraying antifreeze on the tyres makes them slip more easily and creates more smoke (according to some max power types), maybe it was that.
Reckon it could have been. Surprised it was really needed to get the car spinning; looked like it had plenty of power. Not the sort of stuff you want to dump on the circuit for the next round either (I guess it was off-line!).Gassing Station | General Gassing [Archive] | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
