I've just got back from putting a deposit down on a 2004 M3 convertible. It's absolutely stunning, carbon balck with a faultless, mint condition roof, drives absolutely amazingly and looks incredible.
No reason for this post really, just absolutely ecstatic that so many years of saving money have finally paid off and I have the car of my dreams!

I HATE YOU !!
Havn't actually picked it up yet, had to give some notice to take money out of the bank (give the bank notice, to take my money, from them. huh?!?). Should be going to get it next Saturday.
Seriously, I have the most amazing feeling right now!! I've never spent so much money on something that I have wanted (needed?) for so long! It took a lot of nights turning down offers of visits to the pub to be able to do this - so worth it though!

I know mate, it's only been a few hours since I paid the deposit and it's dragging already!! Work is going to be more of a nightmare than usual. At least I have something to keep my brain occupied though!Jonboy_t said:

You are going to have epic fun in the snow this winter.
Enjoy your new motor in good health, and put some pics in reader's rides when you pick it up

They have the widest rear tires I've ever seen!
My mate's M3 coupe could barely make it up a tiny gradient in the work car park whereas all the bangers made it up just fine. Don't get yourself stuck in your new motor.
Won't be a problem, I'm planning on spending the next six and a half months waxing it!My mate's M3 coupe could barely make it up a tiny gradient in the work car park whereas all the bangers made it up just fine. Don't get yourself stuck in your new motor.

How many miles has it done and what was the final price (if you don't mind telling)?
It's done 71k and I paid £9,800 for it. It does seem very very cheap for what it is, most of that age with that mileage go for around £12-£13k. I've set aside 'a little' for emergency repairs, but I'm quite fortunate in that my missus works for a main dealer and my best mate is their master-tech and did his apprenticeship with BMW, so labour costs will be kept down quite considerably!I know the first job I need/want to do is replace the brakes, definitely on the rear, but I want to do the fronts too so it's all the best it can be. Anyone got any tips or ideas on the best types of pads to use? Been looking at yellow/green/red stuff pads, but not sure about their reliability etc.
