How to sell a vehicle registration?

I have a quick question regarding selling a vehicle registration plate:

I have sold the registration, added the buyer as the new nominee to the V750 and now filled in his registration number, validation character etc. Is that the process done and dusted from my side of things? The reason I ask is that I am still listed as the purchaser of the certificate. Does this matter in any way? Should/can the purchaser details be changed?

you can't change the grantee, only when it is assigned to the new owners vehicle will it be his in the eyes of the DVLA.
As long as you have added him/her as a nominee then you will be ok....if that is the name in which the car is registered to. Some people just tell you their name to add it as a nominee, when in reality the vehicle is registered in a different name and you therefore have to change it again.
