As above, what are the current bargains in the market ? There seems to be lots of very good late 90's cars out there that are deeply unloved by the present market but are actually good cars. By good I don't mean great to drive, good to drive is acceptable, but are reliable, with minimal electronic nannys and good depth of enginnering.

The best known example is the ford mondeo, is a very capable car but really suffers at the low end of the market due its "mondeo man" image compared to say a BMW at the same age and miles.

Lots of Mazdas late 90's cars are fantastic to drive, very cheap and reliable. Dealer Parts prices can be a bit eyewatering but most are available aftermarket much cheaper.

Rovers, despite their faults, are undervalued by the market out of all proportion to their quality.

What are the rare, trend bucking cars that are unfashionable but secretly great ?
