The OH renault clio shopping cart needs some new tyres and was thinking about getting some 'all-season' tyres so she can run them all year round.

Are they to much of a comprimise vs winter tyres or summer tyres (not that we really need them living on the coast nr Brighton) or a good idea for the colder months ?

The Quartrac 3 is supposed to be the one to go for.

Yep, Vreddy Quatrac 3 are good all year round and approved by the TUV as a full winter tyre. I've had them on a car for over a year now and they are as good as most full winters in snow and ice but also drive well in the summer. Have done 12000 miles since fitting them and they've got 5-6mm left from the original 8mm. The only caveat is that in better weather they aren't really a sporty tyre, more of a cruiser so you wouldn't want to leave them on all year round on something that likes corners.
